Ryan Elwood is a freelance drummer in Denver. During his career he has played at venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the Gothic Theater as well as at festivals including the Underground Music Showcase (the UMS).

Ryan began playing drums at age nine - by age fifteen he was a working musician, gigging with local jazz artists. He spent five years refining his improvisational skills with guitarist Eric Dorn before joining indie-rock group FaceMan. Since then, Ryan has become an in-demand sideman, performing and recording with artists including Natalie Walker, Doug Haywood, Jen Korte, and Craig Haller.

In addition to his work on stage and in the studio, Ryan is also an accomplished educator. He has been teaching private lessons since 2002 and is on faculty at Broadway Music School in Denver. Ryan is author of Drum Set Concepts - Pop/Rock, a progressive method for learning drum set.
